St. Callinicus was from Cilicia and was raised in the Christian faith. He went through the cities and villages to proclaim Jesus Christ and His teachings to the pagans, and with the Word of God, he converted many to Christianity. Because of his deeds, he is arrested and sent to trial. The governor of Ancyra tried to persuade him to worship the idols. He tortured the holy martyr with no success. St. Callinicus gave his soul to God in Gangra.

The icon is hand-painted according to Byzantine technique and tradition. Panels are made of natural wood. All materials used to prepare the wood for iconography are natural as well. Golden leaves, 2.7 K from established brands, are used.
