The icon depicts our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour. The inscriptions are in Greek, ”Sotiris,” which means ”The Saviour.” His right hand is blessing while the left is holding a Bible. The Lord is depicted in a red shirt and blue mantle, which symbolise red-the earthly kings and the blood—and blue-the heavenly kingdom.

The icon is hand-painted according to the Byzantine tradition and style: egg tempera, 23.7 K golden leaves, and high quality from established brands. The final varnish covers the desk surface and protects the colours. Panels are made of natural sycamore wood. All processes are handmade.
All materials used to prepare the wood for iconography are natural as well.
The nymb is a natural gold.
