The icon is hand-painted according to Byzantine tradition and style—mineral pigments, egg emulsion, and 23.7K golden leaves. Final varnish is used to cover and protect the desk in front.The back of the wooden panel is covered with dark-colored varnish. The wooden desk is slightly recessed in a semicircle.

The desk is natural wood. All materials used to prepare the wood for iconography are natural as well.
